Landmark Kohli ton as India pummel West Indies

At 18 years and 329 days, Shaw reached the milestone off just 99 balls, adding to a host of records he holds in his blossoming career. However, Shaw remained unfazed and kept playing his natural game in the company of Cheteshwar Pujara.

In the second session, Shaw (134) slammed a brilliant ton as he became the youngest Indian to score a Test century on debut as India posted 232/3. At the end of the day, India maanged to score 364 runs for the loss of four wickets.

India won the toss and chose to bat in the first cricket Test against West Indies after handing the batting prodigy his maiden Test cap - and he certainly made the most of his chance.

Shaw announced himself as a teenager when he scored 546 runs in a high school Harris Shield elite match in 2013, and also a century on his first-class debut in 2017.

More than half of his runs came through boundaries, 19 in total.

Pujara also played an uncharacteristically quick knock as he brought up fifty off 67 deliveries, but missed out on his hundred after being caught behind off debutant paceman Sherman Lewis.

Kavanaugh Questioned After 1985 Bar Fight, No Charges Filed
For his part, speaking to the officers, Kavanaugh did not want "to say if he threw the ice or not", the police report said. The report said that Kavanaugh and four others were questioned by New Haven police after the September 25, 1985, incident.

Gabriel was clocking in the higher 140kph but that did not faze Shaw.

India lost a wicket in the very first over but then Pujara and Shaw scored 206 for the second wicket.

Shaw, a diminutive right-hander, reached his 50 in a quickfire 56 deliveries.

The West Indians looked listless on the field as boundaries came at will for India.

Thus, when India dropped Dhawan and Vijay for the home series against West Indies, it was indeed a huge change.
