Chelsea down Southampton to keep pressure on title rivals

Hazard produced another phenomenal display at the St Mary's Stadium on Sunday as Chelsea humbled a beleaguered Southampton side 3-0, with the pint-sized magician pulling the creative strings and producing another man-of-the-match performance - his fifth in the league this term.

Chelsea were always expected to beat a Southampton side who have so far failed to reverse last season's woeful home form, but Arsenal's comprehensive 5-1 defeat of Fulham earlier in the day only added to the pressure on Sarri's side to collect three points.

8 - Sarri's big call today was starting Ross Barkley ahead of Mateo Kovacic and the decision was vindicated as the midfielder gave Chelsea an added cutting edge up front.

"I feel sensations under Sarri that I never thought I would feel again", said Fabregas, who has played under Arsene Wenger, Pep Guardiola, Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte in the past.

Chelsea had the better of the remaining 15 minutes of the first period, but it was Southampton who tested the goalkeeper with Gabbiadini stinging the hands of Kepa Arrizabalaga from distance. Touching the ball 100 times, all the play going through me or Jorginho is a very important role for him.

"I think he had a very serious injury in the previous season, but I think he is improving".

Vettel tumbled down the order to 19th and while both were investigated by race stewards for the collision, no action was taken.

I interviewed him with Laura Woods afterwards and you could see the glint in his eye.

The Belgian now leads the way in the Premier League top goalscorers table with six, and Southampton will have find a way to nullify him if they're to come away with anything.

Morata, on as a substitute, netted after being set up by Hazard.

Alvaro Morata (7): he lost some goal chances before finally securing one. "I am really happy with him", Sarri said.

"I don't know if I've played better (than I am now), I'm just playing good football because we are playing good football". He has quality, very important qualities in the physical and [technical] point of view.

The Spaniard was not to be denied a goal though and coolly lifted Hazard's pass over McCarthy in stoppage time following a prolonged period of possession to seal his side's sixth league victory of the season.
