'Moaning' Mourinho should stay at Manchester United, says Scholes

Wayne Rooney has offered his support to Jose Mourinho during a tough period for Manchester United, with underperforming players told to "stand up" and shoulder more responsibility.

There are "many different reasons" behind Manchester United's poor start to the season, Jose Mourinho said.

Paul Pogba, who was recently stripped of captaincy duties by Mourinho for speaking out about United's style of play, said after the 0-0 draw with Valencia in the Champions League on Tuesday: "I've been told I'm not allowed" to talk.

"Very, very, very good coach, a team that is always very well organised against especially the teams of the first part of the table, where their manager is very bright on his analysis of the opponent's qualities and to try and stop them".

"The manager can do so much but then it is down to the players on the pitch to produce, and probably collectively".

Magpies midfielder Matt Ritchie said: "Us as players are the only people who can get us out of this".

"I'm a really bad loser, so coming into the game [against Newcastle], I really was anxious, because I wanted to win".

Samsung launches A9 smartphone with four cameras for the 'Instagram generation'
But three cameras might not be enough for Samsung , as the company just launched a new phone that has four cameras on the back. With four cameras on the rear glass case, Samsung is touting this device as the ideal offering for the Instagram generation.

The result will likely help to reduce some of the pressure on Mourinho, and the majority of the home fans sung the name of the under-fire manager after Sanchez had put them in front.

United sit eighth in the Premier League table at the global break, with thirteen points from eight games.

"I hope (Mourinho stays) because Manchester United had Sir Alex Ferguson for so long and I don't want us to become a yo-yo club with managers sacked every two years".

Former club captain Rooney says the mood around the club reminds him of Louis van Gaal's hard final few months at Old Trafford, and he wants the players to start performing for their boss.

The Red Devils have struggled since the start of the current season with just four wins all ten matches in all competitions this term.

Boss Rafael Benitez said: "I think we did so well for 70 minutes".

The Theatre of Dreams reverberated to the sound of boos at half-time and although United showed some steel to shatter Newcastle's own fantasy of three points, it couldn't mask another worrying display from a side that look shorn of confidence.
