After much anticipation, OnePlus has finally announced their second flagship of the year.

The display also serves as a home for an in-display fingerprint sensor, which is increasingly becoming popular with flagship Android smartphones. United Kingdom buyers will be able to get up to £205 off a 6T purchase by trading in an old handset (select models only) or any OnePlus smartphone.

OnePlus also partnered with renowned portrait photographer Kevin Abosch to overhaul portrait shots taken with the 6T.

The OnePlus 6T will be only the second mass-market phone to launch in the United Kingdom with the new in-display fingerprint scanner technology, following the £900 Huawei Mate 20 Pro, beating high-end rivals such as Samsung to what has been considered for years as the holy grail of fingerprint scanners.

OnePlus is putting a stake in the ground with its latest smartphone, saying cutting-edge technology doesn't need to cost the best part of £1,000. It's just 20W fast charging now as it's Dash Charge nametag is under some legal regulatory concern. The AMOLED display is now at 6.4-inch with FHD+ resolution. OnePlus has monkey-wrenched a sheet of Gorilla Glass 6 onto the screen, potentially making it harder to shatter than usual. This is because, as of Android Pie, the Recents app overview is built into the Launcher application alongside OnePlus' gestures.

Interim CBI chief's orders including mass transfers on hold
The ruling BJP and the Opposition would wait for the Supreme Court's order in the removal of CBI director with bated breath today. Nageswara Rao , a 1986-batch IPS officer of the Odisha cadre, was appointed as interim director of the agency by the government.

Carphone Warehouse is set to stock the OnePlus 6T but there's no sign of contract deals there yet. This feature will also make its way to the OnePlus 6 with a software update. This helps increase the overall screen-to-body ratio of the device. Except for the slightly bigger display and battery, and the in-display fingerprint sensor, we found nothing has been improved on the latest device.

To accommodate a bigger battery, OnePlus has ditched the 3.5mm jack this time. It's still a dual-SIM phone though, and no, it doesn't support 5G connectivity but Qualcomm has confirmed that the next OnePlus phone (probably the 7) will support the next-gen in connectivity. There's no wireless charging despite the device coming with a glass back though.

Those who had pre-ordered the OnePlus 6T on Amazon with Rs 1,000 voucher will receive Rs 500 worth cashback as Amazon Pay balance along with a free pair of OnePlus Type-C Bullet earphones.

Next is a feature that's pretty simple, but still nice: a new About Phone screen.

The new OnePlus 6T, which starts at £499, has an all-screen design and large 6.41in FHD+ OLED display, but this time shrinks the notch at the top to a more bearable tiny teardrop shape, slims the chin at the bottom of the screen and fits a fingerprint scanner directly into the screen. Or, put another way, is OnePlus's water resistance good enough, and worth saving £200?
