Green Bay Packers: Ha Ha Clinton-Dix trade leaves hole at safety

After the critical mistake Ty Montgomery made that potentially cost the Green Bay Packers the game against the Los Angeles Rams, it was clear he was on his way out with the decreased snaps in a crowded backfield.

This year, the Packers saw two of their own shipped off to other organizations: Running back Ty Montgomery to the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for a 2020 seventh-round pick and safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix to the Washington Redskins for a fourth. Montgomery was drafted in the third round of the 2015 NFL Draft out of Stanford, originally as a wide receiver. The Ravens have had good luck with players getting second chances, an example being John Brown from the Arizona Cardinals, who they signed to a one year deal this past offseason.

The 25-year-old has recorded 27 tackles, a sack, a forced fumble, and three interceptions this season. Alex Collins and Javorius Allen have largely disappointed in 2018, as both the young runners have under 4.0 YPC thus far. The Packers did not get the ball back, and the Rams ran out the clock to clinch victory. "I will say I was ready to put all of that in the past".

"It's been attractive", Montgomery said of the last 24 hours.

"I stood where I always stood (and) I had a returnable ball", Montgomery said. He had indicated earlier this year he didn't anticipate returning to the team when he hit free agency in March 2019.

The U.S. economy grew by 3.5 percent in the third quarter
The slowdown in business spending "came earlier and was more than we expected, given where the stimulus is", Coronado said. Real GDP can be higher than real potential GDP if the economy gets extra stimulus from government spending or tax cuts.

However talented Montgomery was, at least the Packers have a better player to take his reps in Aaron Jones.

His role in the offense will depend on whether offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg can utilize him well all over the field.

Carson was promoted from the Packers practice squad on Wednesday. He rushed 20 times for 77 yards and two touchdowns during the preseason but does not have a regular-season carry in his National Football League career.

Whether Montgomery can help this Sunday against the Steelers, Harbaugh said he'll try to determine that in practice this week.
