Titans were too late on WR Demaryius Thomas

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. - There have been many moments since the Denver Broncos convened for their first on-field practices in May, when Demaryius Thomas could be seen talking to rookies Courtland Sutton and DaeSean Hamilton about some of the finer points of the work to be done as an National Football League wide receiver.

In exchange for the contract-year wideout, Denver received a fourth-round pick and will swap their seventh-rounder for Houston's. This season, he had 36 catches for 402 yards and three TDs in eight games.

"He developed into an elite player over the years, establishing himself as one of the NFL's most productive, consistent and reliable wide receivers".

The Broncos plan to honor Thomas's contributions to the franchise with a final gesture when he suits up in a Texans uniform this Sunday in Denver.

Indonesian plane carrying 188 passengers crashes into the sea
Indonesia's Search And Rescue Agency has released an official statement which says the reason for the crash is still unclear . Just a few minutes after it went up in the air, the passenger aircraft lost control with the Air Traffic Controller (ATC).

As Thomas makes his way to Houston, his former team wishes him all the best.

He had five consecutive years of 1,000-plus yards receiving between 2012-16, and just missed that milestone last season with 949 yards. By all accounts, Thomas is a great guy and a great teammate, which alone gets him about 80 percent of the way home in Bill O'Brien's book. Sure enough, the Broncos announced on Monday that the perennial Pro Bowl wide receiver is being sent to Houston to play for the Texans.

If Keenum had looked good and the Broncos had a winning record, then shipping Thomas to the Texans would have been unthinkable. Second, and perhaps more importantly, the message the Broncos received yesterday was that, in at least some small way, their front office is cashing it in on 2018. Certainly, the timing is wild of this trade with those two battling head-to-head this Sunday at 2 p.m. MT. Seeing NFL teams, from real contenders like the Rams and Eagles to aspiring contenders like the Texans and Redskins, making deals is pretty damn cool.
