Former Cowboy Dez Bryant agrees to deal with Saints

Former Cowboy Dez Bryant agrees to deal with Saints

New Orleans appears to be all-in on a Super Bowl run, with 39-year-old quarterback Drew Brees having one of the best seasons of his career as the Saints continue to make aggressive moves to fill holes in the lineup.

The Saints, however, kept a close eye on the 6-foot-2, 230-pound Bryant after his release.

Bryant's eight year career in Dallas had its fair share of drama, but also some really good production as well.

Payton said "we'll see" when asked if there is a chance Bryant could play Sunday at Cincinnati.

Sherman took to his personal Twitter account and reacted to the news that Bryant had signed with the Saints. The Cowboys' front office never seemed to return the interest, however, Jay-Z and Beyonce concerts notwithstanding. At the same time, New Orleans is without deep threat Ted Ginn Jr., who is now on injured reserve and won't be eligible to return until the final few weeks of the season, if he's ready by then.

Rooney to make England swansong against U.S. next week
Although Harry Kane is the current England captain, he will give the armband over to Rooney for the special occasion. Across a 13-year worldwide career, Rooney represented England at three World Cups and three European Championships.

Pro Bowl wideout Michael Thomas has flourished this season for the Saints (7-1), recording 70 receptions for 880 yards and five touchdowns. When we last saw him, he was coming off the worst of his nine National Football League seasons, catching 69 passes for 838 yards and just 6 touchdowns.

Bryant, who turned 30 on November 4, brings a wealth of experience and big-play ability to New Orleans. "I think he's going to be a good veteran for that team". The running back praised Bryant's passion, which Elliott said sometimes is viewed differently outside the locker room. "He's definitely a special player and I'm glad he got picked up and I'm glad something worked out for him".

"Dez is a great player". This certainly adds a dimension to the Saints' Nov. 30 game, a Thursday night visit to the Cowboys at AT&T Stadium. But his knee was obviously a big enough concern this past offseason for the Chicago Bears to let him get away as a restricted free agent.

Cowboys defensive lineman Tyrone Crawford has actually hung out with Bryant recently, and if his scouting report is to be believed, the Saints are getting a guy who looks like an animal. "I know it's important to him".
