Michelle Obama struggled to conceive after miscarriage

Besides family issues, Michelle has also talked about her role as US First Lady and why she won't seek elective office.

Her husband and the former President Barack Obama shared a touching tribute to Michelle upon the memoir's release. When Michelle, then known as Ms Michelle Robinson, first heard her fellow lawyers swooning over a new summer associate named Barack Hussein Obama, she was dubious.

"What nobody tells you is that miscarriage happens all the time, to more women than you'd ever guess, given the relative silence around it".

The autobiography takes readers on an honest and compelling journey from Obama's childhood to living in one of the world's - if not the most - famous addresses, The White House. "And my staff was calling me, everybody was celebrating, people were crying, and I thought, I want to be in that!"

Her plan fell apart as she realized the door leading out to the lawn was locked, and the one security agent they had outpaced was now behind them and was not alone, but rather joined by other security officials who were also all quite perplexed by the sudden attempt to flee 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

O: "You know, they agree". But we just took it in. I held her tight and my feeling was, we are moving forward.

And now, Mrs Obama will have more opportunity to speak out during her book tour, which begins in her hometown Chicago before rolling on to New York, Washington, Los Angeles, Boston and other American cities.
