Congress Relatively Mum on Raging California Camp Fire

The number of people missing after California's deadliest and most destructive wildfire jumped on Saturday to 1,276, despite authorities locating hundreds of people who scattered when the Camp Fire tore through the mountain town of Paradise.

Investigators recover human remains at a home burned in the Camp Fire in Magalia, Many of the missing in the deadly Northern California wildfire are elderly residents in Magalia, a forested town of about 11,000 north of the destroyed town of Paradise, Calif.

California authorities collected DNA samples from relatives on Thursday to help identify victims of the western USA state's deadliest-ever wildfire.

At least 63 people have been confirmed dead in the Camp Fire, which erupted a week ago in the drought-parched Sierra foothills 175 miles (280 kilometers) north of San Francisco and now ranks as one of the most lethal single United States wildfires since the turn of the last century. Jerry Brown and Governor-elect Gavin Newsom, said that the wildfires in the state may be the worst disaster he's seen in his career.

Trump arrived in Northern California on Saturday and he's surveying fire recovery efforts and inspecting the damage.

"I don't think it's appropriate for any of us to sit and speculate about what the future holds".

The seven additional victims brings to 66 the number of people who have died in the so-called Camp Fire in northern California.

The revised roster of 630 missing people is up from 297 listed on Thursday by the Butte County Sheriff's Office.

Mr Honea said the original total was a partial count, and that after authorities went back through all emergency calls and other reports of missing people from the past week, they came up with the new number. "Now is a time to pull together for the people of California".

Croatia's Ivan Rakitic to miss England showdown because of injury
Obviously I think Ramos, his record speaks for himself, the amount of trophies he's won, the amount of big games he's played. So the equation is fairly simple for Zlatko Dalić and the Croatian team, beat England and a semi-final spot is assured.

Some of the names on the Butte County list appear a few times and it's not clear if any are duplicates. He said the list of missing would keep fluctuating with names being added and others removed, either because they turn up safe or are identified among the dead.

The blaze that started November 8 destroyed more than 9,800 homes. "We're still reviewing emails", Honea said. Numerous missing in the deadly Northern California wildfire are elderly residents in Magalia, a forested town of about 11,000 north of the destroyed town of Paradise.

Sheriff Honea said the list may contain people who do not know they are considered lost.

Raging flames on both ends of the state have killed 74 people so far, and officials estimate as many as 1,011 were still unaccounted for late Saturday.

The Los Angeles area has also been affected by fires, with the Woolsey Fire burning through Ventura County. More than 5,500 fire personnel were battling the blaze that covered 228 square miles (590 square kilometers) and was about 50 percent contained, officials said.

"Let's hope he gets us some help", the Trump voter said at a FEMA assistance center, where she was trying to get a walker for her 72-year-old mom.

Actor Gerard Butler, whose home was damaged in the Woolsey fire, hosted a star-packed fundraiser for The Malibu Foundation Friday night, bringing in almost $2 million for fire victims from notables like Jamie Foxx, Cindy Crawford, Minnie Driver, Sean Penn and others.

The smaller Hill Fire is now virtually 100 percent contained after it burned more than 4,500 acres, destroyed 2 buildings and damaged 2 more.
