Ivanka Trump on Private Email Use

Ivanka Trump defended her use of a private email account as she was moving into an adviser's position in her father's administration, saying that it can not be compared to the flap over former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's private email server and that "Lock her up!" doesn't apply to her.

"Everything has been preserved, everything has been archived", said Ms Trump, 37, who holds the official title of adviser to the president.

The group said she'd corresponded with Trump Cabinet officials, including Education Secretary Betsy DeVos, Small Business Administration chief Linda McMahon and Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross using her private email account. "There were no deletions. There is no attempt to hide", she said.

"In my case, all of my emails are on the White House server", she said.

Donald Trump attacked Clinton eagerly and often during the 2016 presidential campaign for her use of a private email account while Secretary of State, insisting the communications were hacked by China.

"There is no restriction of using personal email", she said.

House Oversight Committee Chairman Trey Gowdy, a Republican, has asked the White House for information related to Ivanka Trump's private email use, while the head of the Senate's Homeland Security Committee, Republican Senator Ron Johnson, sought a briefing on the topic. But on Thanksgiving Day, POTUS told reporters, "If they have to, they're gonna use lethal force".

The senior White House adviser also noted that there is "no prohibition from using private email as long as it's archived" and contains no classified information.

Congressional Democrats are crying foul, suggesting that they'll launch an investigation in 2019 after they take over control of the House of Representatives. "I think it's been a long time that this has been ongoing, but I want it to be done in a way in which nobody could question that it was hurried or rushed".

In the past, social media users have called her out repeatedly for waiting to make a statement about the Trump administration's immigration and family separation policies, and she was also lambasted for staying silent about the confirmation of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, despite positioning herself as a champion for women's rights.

"I don't think it was just a flat-out photo op but that it really, truly was a visit to see innovation in action", he said.

Roberts asked later in the interview.

Former Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton accused Donald Trump of being "part of" Saudi Arabia's "coverup" in the murder of Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi, referencing the president's on-and-off defense of the gulf state regime since the disappearance. "They're all stored on the White House system", Ivanka told Deborah Roberts.
